Peace and Social Concerns Committee Report:

Our participation in Paint-a-thon was approved.

The letter written by Yearly Meeting’s Peace and Social Concerns Committee for publication in local newspapers was approved to be sent to Omaha World Herald.  Debbie will mail it to the World Herald.  If anyone sees it published, please let Debbie know.

The discussion about the Meeting’s role in OTOC will be delayed until Pam Avery attends.  This is planned to be at Business Meeting in June.

PULSE will be sent a letter regarding the timeliness of Sadie’s request fitting in with our Business Meeting being able to meet and make decisions.  It will be made clear that we do want to find a way to support her activities.  We will stay within the budgeted amount to PULSE.  Voluntary donations can be made when Sadie makes requests of Meeting.

Ministry and Oversight Committee report:

Marshall’s committee has been asked to review his emails he is sending to others that have admonishing tones.  Additional concerns were expressed about his level of listening to others and about how accepting ridess may be diluting the essence of the original spirit of the walk.  It may be there are some control issues at play.  We encourage him to trust God.

Finance Committee report:

The Secretary of State approved our application for incorporation with a few points to be changed.  These will be corrected before the application can be resubmitted.  Curtis is taking care of this.

Webmaster’s report:

Paul wants input for a graphic for the website.  He will clarify how material will be sent to Yearly Meeting’s webmaster and if a link can be established between that website and ours.  An interactive blog or message board will be considered later.

Religious Education report:

The committee’s report was read.  It is attached.

Other:

1)     Committee yearly reports need to be completed for Yearly Meeting by the June Business Meeting.  Please keep that in mind for your committees arranging meetings.  Debbie will contact committees and send to them the information from Yearly Meeting’s clerk.

2)     Please note: drafts of the agenda, committee reports, and the query summary are asked to be sent to Meeting individuals so they can be read before Business Meeting.  Please mark these as drafts when you send them; and please read any you receive in preparation for Business Meeting.  Also, bring several hard copies to Business Meeting.
