Peace and Social Concerns Committee Report:

            Paint-a-thon house was scraped.  Because of rain during week, the shakes were too wet to paint.  Priming will begin on Thursday evening.

            Volunteers are being sought to serve on the Nebraska Advocacy Services board and also to become a “friend” to some of its developmentally disabled clients.  Talk to Debbie or Marilyn.

            Discussion on environmental responsibility will be scheduled during September Business Meeting.

 

Ministry and Oversight Committee report:

            Lucy’s membership will be transferred to Goshen Friends Meeting per her written request.  Simon’s membership will be dropped, also per Lucy’s request.  The clerk will send a letter of transfer to Goshen’s clerk.  Lucy’s letter was given to the committee by the assistant clerk.

 

Webmaster’s report:

            Clerks will be given the login and password for the website’s email.  A link will be established to Marshall’s blog and will include a disclaimer composed by the Webmaster.  Any additional links will be approved by Business Meeting.  On the website a link will be inserted under “Contact” for emailing to contact Meeting.  Marilyn’s address will be removed.

 

Treasurer’s Report

            The report was approved.

            Next Sunday there will be a short Called Meeting to approve the dispersal of reimbursement from Marshall’s account after his Oversight Committee has discussed his request.

            Approval was given to reimburse the assistant clerk for postage and to Debbie for items for the Paint-a-thon day.

            Yearly Meeting apportionment was raised to $2160.00

 

Finance Committee report:

            Lynda will convene the Board of Director’s Meeting for our incorporation process to write by-laws..  The required three weeks of publication of the notice of incorporation has been completed.

            There will be a budget draft for the September Business Meeting.  Please send input to a member of this committee.

Other:

1)     The 2007 Yearly Meeting entertainment committee includes Omaha, Lincoln, and Paullina.  Debbie will send out notes from those Meeting’s representatives who met at the 2006 Yearly Meeting.  This committee is responsible for chosing a theme and arranging the program and organizing the schedule, as well as overseeing things that week.  Your help is needed at Yearly Meeting, so please put it on your calendar.

2) The Earlham School of Religion is planning a program for Iowa.  See

3)     Dot Mott of Paullina passed away August 13.

4)      The Johanningsmeier family is spending the year in Leipzig, Germany where Chuck is a Fulbright Fellow.  They have rented an apartment near the church where JS Bach was the choirmaster!
