Meeting for Worship With Attention to Business

Treasurer's Report. . . for 2000, expenses of $11,041.69
and income from contributions, $10,555. We have a checking
account balance of $2,356.84. From the V.O.P.s fund
interest, $50 to Barb Luetke-Stahlman and $50 to SOA
Watch. Peace & Social Concerns Committee. . .the meeting's minute concerning
Iraq has been received by AFSC and
the Fellowship for Reconciliation. Penn Valley Monthly Meeting hosted the December
board meeting of Westport Cooperative Services, during which David Rommel gave a brief
overview of Penn Valley and Quakerism. Habitat for Humanity is sponsoring an ongoing
fund drive based on the recycling
of aluminum cans. If you are interested in the recycling
locations see David or call 888-798-CANS. Program Committee
. . .Terry Matz and Amy Zeh-Rommel submitted the
after worship programs for January and February. 0n the 14,
Rachel MacNair will lead a discussion concerning the Quaker
Bible Study Program, with a method learned from a course at
Powell House. On the 28, an open forum concerning Capital
Punishment will give participants the opportunity to voice
concerns regarding this issue. First Day School Committee.
. .Would welcome an additional member and is looking for
ideas for curriculum and anyone willing to teach an occasional
lesson. Other Business.. .Granted $50 each to Breeze and
Hannah Luetke-Stahlman to help defray their expenses for
the School of America's action. Breeze will use her $50 to help
with her postcard campaign (see Here & There) A letter from
Ian Fritz, the young Quaker we have helped in the past, told
of his anti-Klan activities which have resulted in his arrest.
More information will be available later. We heard from Barb
regarding the book she is writing on 17 century young Quakers.
