The meeting opened with
reading and a time of
silence.
New committees are
organizing for the new
year.
Corporation business was
quickly disposed of: Karin
is president, Marc is vice
president and secretary, and
Ginger is treasurer.
The Ministry and Oversight
report was heard and
accepted. The report
triggered discussion of
monthly potlucks and game
nights. These will be
organized by a small adhoc
committee led by Leesa
Whitson.
The treasurer’s report was
heard and accepted. The
finance committee will
present the 2006 budget at
the next Meeting for
Worship with Attention to
Business.
The house upkeep
committee met this
morning and divided up
their jobs.
The publications committee
(Gary) is continuing to
work on updating the
directory. The committee
will meet soon.
The Quaker Education
committee met this
morning. They have
planned a program for the
fourth meeting this month,
a discussion of what Penn
Valley would like to learn
about Quakerism this year.
The fifth program this
month will be discussion
peace and activism,
including Penn Valley
support of AFSC’s new
Iraq activities.
The meeting discussed the
possibility of sending a
delegate to Mainstream
Coalition’s Voices of Faith
committee. Before deciding
to, we will invite someone
from their committee to
give a program on their
work.
The meeting ended with
