Meeting for Worship With Attention to Business
Second
Month, Sixth Day
Vera Elleson, Clerk; Karin McAdams, Recording Clerk; Amy Zeh Rommel, reader. Nineteen members and attenders were present.
Treasurer Kent Luetke-Stahiman reported the January income of $1,050, operational fund assets at $3,846.64 and
presented the 2000 budget for approval. The new budget of $12,286 eliminated FOR and Sufferings as line items. The Budget
committee felt that Quaker groups,especially local/regional, should be stressed. In 1999, Penn Valley had a total of $12,657 in the
checking account and spent $12, 618. The nominating committee added Terry Matz to the newsletter committee and David and
Amy Zeh Rommel to Peace and Social Concerns. House Upkeep Committee has proposed a silent auction of a few
excess items with proceeds to be placed in the building fund. Items include a teapot in the kitchen cupboard, some wood folding
chairs, a lamp, and two sets of metal shelves. Written bids should be submitted to John Griffith or Brenda Funk no later than
February 19. First Day School, Ministry & Oversight, Recorder/Archives Committees also had fine reports. The latter
will appear in next month's newsletter. M & 0, following up on one person's suggestion concerning the newsletter being
available by e-mail, would like feedback on how many persons would prefer this. If you are one who would, let a member of the
newsletter committee know. Depending on the interest, the committee will then discuss logistics.
The following committees have agreed to conveners for 2000: Ministry & Oversight, Nancy Moon and Sheila Shinn, co-clerks;
House Upkeep, Brenda Funk; Program, Alexa Thompson; Library, Dorothy MacNair; First Day School, Carol Morris; Audit,
John Griffith; House Search, Pat Miller; Finance, Kent Luetke-StahIman; Newsletter, Sheila Shinn; Peace & Social Concerns,
Dan Pearson.
