Treasurer's report, Ginger: Income: $865; outgo: $1212, leaving a balance in the operating budget of a mere $70 . Ya'll give!
Ministry & Oversight: the report seems to be lost, however, the meeting approved, with editing, the state of the meeting report sent annually to Iowa Yearly Meeting. This report will appear in next month's Friendly Connection.
Peace and Social Concerns, David: The deadline for our contributions to the Back-to-School program sponsored by Westport Cooperative Services is July 14. The estimated cost per child is $40-60. We have always been a strong supporter of this program. Ginger is accepting donations (checks to PVM sufferings). We were reminded that our yearly dues to the Western Missouri Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty need to be paid.
Quaker Education, Kevin: The next program will be the fourth Sunday in August featuring a discussion of the Quaker Disciplines led by Kevin.
Other Decisions: We accepted Joel Hembree's membership in Penn Valley Meeting of Friends with appreciation and joy. Individuals were appointed to various tasks related to the upcoming Iowa Yearly Meeting. (If you are planning to go, let Jim know) We gave Reva the go-ahead regarding a punch bowl (and 40 cups) donation. |
