MEETING FOR WORSHIP WITH ATTENTION TO BUSINESS, eighth month, eighth day Meeting for Worship with Attention to Business, held on the ninth month, fifth day, with Kevin Chafin, clerk, and Ginger Kenney, acting-recording clerk, had 14 members and attenders present. Committee Reports: Finance (John): The report reveals that August receipts are $725; $1,029 in expenses; and an operating balance of $537. House Upkeep (Brenda): Bathroom tile replacement, trimming backyard trees, and dealing with soffit wood-rot are upcoming projects. A recommendation to begin getting estimates for replacing the plumbing with copper was approved. Ministry and Oversight (Nancy): Meeting approved a recommendation to have a picnic during program on September 26. A recommendation was approved to form a nominating committee for 2005 with Echo, Terry Matz, Donnie Morehouse, Dan Pearson, and Marc Robinson as members. Spiritual Formation program was discussed. Penn Valley will have responsibilities for IYM next year and we need to begin preparing. Program (Terry): See Schedule. Education (Nancy): Parents have decided against a First Day School for now and will continue volunteer-led child-care. Terry Matz is leading a Spiritual Formation program and the committee encourages all to consider it. Library (Marc): Reorganization and clean-out projects are underway. Karin purchased for the library a copy of Friends for 350 years and Quaker Aesthetics. Meeting will reimburse her for these fine books from the budget. |
