MEETING FOR WORSHIP WITH ATTENTION TO BUSINESS, eleventh month, seventh day
Meeting for Worship with Attention to Business, held on the eleventh month, seventh day with Kevin Chafin, clerk, and Karin McAdams, acting recording clerk, had 18 members and attenders present.
Committee Reports:
Finance (Ginger): The report reveals that October receipts are $510; $327 in expenses; and an operating balance of $864.
House Upkeep Jim): Several house maintenance chores have been completed, including the installation of a sumppump in the basement, to which Jim K. gave 40 hours.
Ministry and Oversight (Karin): There is concern for fostering a sense of community within the meeting. Several options are being considered including a retreat with an outside speaker. A
recommendation was approved to send $50.00 from the VOPS fund plus any individual donations to the Colorado Springs Meeting to assist in locating or building a meetinghouse. To contribute,
please put the word COLORADO on your check and give it to Ginger. A recommendation for Mary Pat Luetke-Stahlman to attend the Friends World Conference was approved. The obligation to
share the hosting of IYM at Scattergood comes to Penn Valley in 2005. The committee would like to know of people who are planning on attending IYM. The meeting approved of sending whomever
is clerk for the new year to a clerking workshop at the earliest convenience.
Education (Nancy): Several upcoming programs relate to Quaker education. No meeting in November.
Nominating (Marc): The committee continues its work. The next meeting is Nov. 14. |
