MEETING FOR WORSHIP WITH ATTENTION TO BUSINESS, 12th month, 4th day, 2005

The meeting opened with noise and a reflective silence. The Ministry and Oversight report was given verbally. Printed minutes will be included later.

The treasurer’s report was heard and approved.

The house upkeep committee has been very busy, inside and outside, and in the back yard. In current business, Meeting approved the installation of a railing on the basement stairs. Meeting also discussed the installation of a railing on the attic stairs, which will be referred to the house upkeep committee. Members appreciate the initiative and hard work of all involved. The report was accepted with thanks.

The nominating committee gave its report, which was accepted with gratitude for its discernment.

The publications committee report sparked a long discussion of the format of the list of members and attenders, and the broader issue of membership and attendance. The committee will make available copies for review. The list will be published in the same format, but with asterisks denoting members, rather than attenders. The Quaker education committee is asked to educate us about membership.

The program committee presented its report. It was approved, with some changes in the order and content of the programs.
